The Assumption Early Learning Center (AELC) is an outreach of Assumption’s mission to teach our children in a loving and Catholic focused environment.
Our teachers believe that the classroom environment is an important tool for helping children learn. Room arrangements and daily schedules, while carefully designed, are flexible. Student work is on display everywhere, signaling to students that the room belongs to them.
Children solve realistic problems, explain their thinking, and examine their reasoning. They also learn to function as members of a community. As a result, they attain deep understandings in the core content areas, become critical thinkers and creative problem-solvers, develop cooperative and collaborative skills, and develop a love of learning.
We offer many programs that are suitable for every family. We have full-time and part-time/full-day options available from 3 to five days per week for infant, toddler, preschool and Pre-Kindergarten classrooms, providing care for children ages six weeks to six years. Additionally, we offer a wide variety of summer programs serving children birth through 4th grade.
Our classrooms are grouped into separate ages (Infants (6 weeks – 12 months), Infant Toddlers (12-24 months), Toddlers (2-3 years), Preschool (3-4 years) and Pre-Kindergarten (4-5 years). All support the belief of creating and sustaining a community classroom environment. Our hands on philosophy allows us to provide an atmosphere for the children to discover through play. Our teachers utilize age-appropriate benchmarks to guide the learning environment to cover all early childhood developmental goals, including cognative development, languate development, self-help, physical development and social emotional development.
