At September's Donuts Downstairs for Young Families and Young Adults,
Faith in the Home provided some basic necessities, such as food, water, hygiene items, and medicine, so that the families could assemble their own Blessing Bags! These bags are intended to be kept in one's car, as preparation for the times in which you inevitably see someone on the side of the road asking for help. Each blessing bag also included a little note that said "You matter. You are not forgotten" and included a bible verse.
Making Blessing Bags are a great opportunity for parents to teach their kids about loving our neighbor as ourselves,
to discuss the parable of the Good Samaritan, and to exemplify
Christian service.

"Faith in the Home" is a new program that has been created
to help our parents share the truth, goodness, and beauty
of the Catholic faith with their children in new and creative ways!
Children of the parish arrived at Holy Mass on November 1 dressed as saints
and they got to enjoy or take home "saintly snacks" following the Mass.
November is the month of praying for the souls of the faithful departed. It is customary to visit the cemetery and pray for the souls in Purgatory (A plenary indulgence could be gained for going to a cemetery between November 1 and November 8, or a partial indulgence any other day of the month.)
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Solemnity of Christ the King As the Church year draws to a close, the readings help us to consider the final judgment, the return of Christ at the end of time. The full title of the feast of Christ the King is the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. Pope Pius XI instituted the feast in 1925 to respond to growing nationalism and secularism in the world. He reminded the faithful that while governments and countries may come and go, Christ reigns as king forever.
