This committee works closely with the pastor and parish maintenance supervisor to support the facility work of the parish. The group includes parishioners with applicable technical and business experience. Typically this committee plans and executes initiatives needed to maintain and improve parish facilities.
When appropriate, other parishioner or outside talents are recruited to assist with special projects. Some projects are completed utilizing parishioner labor or by utilizing parish Boy Scouts as part of their Eagle Scout program.
Typical facility improvement projects have included: Early Learning Center upgrades - kitchen, playground; school playground; landscaping; restroom renovations; retaining walls; window replacement; liturgical support – new organ, bell tower; Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance – ramps, elevators; and electronic systems – security, telephone, Internet. Typical maintenance projects have included: parking lots/sidewalks, HVAC systems, roofing, foundations, masonry/tuck pointing, and painting. Some operating cost reduction projects have included energy- efficient electrical lighting and HVAC upgrades.
Committee meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the rectory lower level.
