This past school year, our school teamed up with 3 other South County Archdiocesan grade schools to help out kids in Lemay's Hancock Place School District! Many Hancock students do not have access to laundry-cleaning appliances at their homes. In order to meet this need for clean clothes, $5,246.16 was raised this Lent by Assumption, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, and St. Simon schools, which was enough to buy a stacked washer-dryer unit for Hancock's Elementary and for Hancock Place Middle School. Thanks for all the prayers for 3-year-old Sloane, a member of our Assumption Parish Family! Her miraculous recovery was so remarkable that Sloane, her parents, and her caregivers at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital were featured on KSDK Channel 5 News!
This past Lent, our Parish collected different baby items each week to donate to 7 local pregnancy resource centers, which help support mothers in crisis as they chose LIFE for their children, unborn & born. Our estimates show that our generous parishioners gave hundreds, if not thousands, of items to this donation drive. Click on the title to read more!
On April 28th, the Fr. Griffin Council of the Knights of Columbus and the ACTS community hosted a pancake breakfast in the school cafeteria to benefit St. Louis HELP, which collects medical equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers and much more, to be loaned to those in need for free. On Thursday, May 16th, a check for $564.65 was presented to St. Louis HELP.
