5th grade homeroom
I have been with Assumption Parish School since the 2015-2016 school year and in my time here, I have been a Librarian, a Kindergarten aide, and I have also taught 7th grade religion. Prior to Assumption Parish School, I was an aide in a Pre-Kindergarten classroom at St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Smithton, Illinois after graduating from college in May of 2012. The following year I was hired by Mascoutah School District in Illinois and served as an Individual Care Aide for students with special needs in the regular classroom and interpreted for students who were deaf. I worked in a Preschool classroom and a 4th grade classroom at two different schools within the district for two years.
I attended St. Teresa’s Catholic Grade School in Belleville, Illinois from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I then went to high school at Belleville Township High School East. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from McKendree University. I also have a degree in American Sign Language and a Certificate in Early Childhood Education. I am certified to teach in both Missouri and Illinois.
I am the youngest of three children. I have an older sister and an older brother. I am also an aunt to my wonderful niece and nephew. My parents are my biggest cheerleaders in life. I love going on spontaneous adventures with my family over summer break or on the weekends. I also have two fur babies, my dogs Sassy and Bailey, who are completely spoiled rotten!
I love to read and go to the movies. I love watching Cardinal games and Blues games - either live or on television. I also love listening to music and singing. I enjoy going on walks with my dogs, riding my bike, and doing Zumba. I also like to crochet, which is a fairly new hobby that I just picked up.
