This year is going to be a very busy and fun year in Second Grade. The deepening of faith is going to be a very important part of our class. This year the students will receive their First Reconciliation as well as their First Communion! There is also going to be a lot of reading in our classroom. Second Graders will be developing stronger fluency and comprehension throughout the year.
It is also a big year for Mathematics in Second Grade. Not only will they be strengthening their adding and subtracting skills, but they will learn about time, money, and fractions! Being hands-on and having a lot of group discussions will be a big part of our learning experience.
Educational Experience:
I started working at Assumption in January of 2017 as the Pre-K teacher. Second Grade has always been my dream grade so when the position opened up, I was eager to take it over!
Educational Background:
I attended Queen of All Saints all through grade school. From there I went on to attend Oakville High School, then Westminster College in Fulton, MO. My degree is in Elementary Education. Through Westminster’s Education Program, I was able to go back to Queen of All Saints and complete my student teaching in 2nd grade there.
Personal:
I am the youngest of 4 children in my family. I have 2 older sisters and 1 older brother. I am so thankful that I was able to grow up in the catholic faith at Queen of All Saints. I feel very blessed that I get to be part of the community at Assumption Parish as well and help children grow in their faith.
Hobbies:
I love watching and playing sports. I am a big fan of the St. Louis Blues as well as the Denver Broncos. Most of my time is spent with family and friends. I also love to take my dog for walks as well as relaxing and reading a good book.
