Classroom:
Art for each grade from Kindergarten to 8th will have art projects in the following areas: abstract art, art around the world, clay, color, drawing, elements of art, history of artists, painting, principles of design, printing making, and subject matter. Art is a time where students can explore different types of media, techniques, and processes. In art students will learn about art vocabulary, artists, and cultures of all types. Students will learn to reflect about their own art work and others. Finally, art class is about making connections between visual arts and other disciplines.
I joined Assumption in 2016. Before this, I was an artist at home, while raising my two boys. My first art teacher position was in 2002 at City Academy. City Academy is a private and independent elementary school that provides a challenging education to children living in and around St. Louis, regardless of their income level. I taught art here for five years while developing a successful art program that is still used today.
In 2001, received a degree in Art Education from Indiana State University.
I am married to my husband Ryan, and we have two boys, Nicholas and Davis.
