This year I will be guiding the kindergartners in learning: prayers, about God our Father and the Catholic faith, letters, letter sounds, blending letter sounds, telling time to the hour, patterning, and basic addition and subtraction. Kindergarten is a busy, but happy and exciting place and usually the place to go when you need a smile. I hope to help my students grow in Christ, grow in abilities and grow in kindness.
I am starting my 29th year teaching, my 19th year at Assumption. I have taught at St. Francis of Assisi, St. Cecilia in South St. Louis, and St. Andrew in Lemay. I have experience in kindergarten, first grade and third grade.
I have a dual degree, so I am certified to teach pre-k through 8th grade. I earned a BS degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at University of Missouri-Columbia (as it was called then). I have a lifetime teaching certificate. I have also earned catechist certification from the St. Louis Archdiocese to teach religion. I attended St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Parish School and Cor Jesu High School.
I love spending time with my husband and our 3 children. We like to watch movies, go to the zoo, go to church, go to Cardinals baseball games, and just be together. I love to read and discover new places. During the summer I like to go canoeing and swimming. I like to go on walks with my dog. Over this past summer I have discovered that I also enjoy running. I have been in training to run a 5K. I am hoping to be able to run a 5K hopefully in September and November.
I have been married for 27 years. We have 3 children. We have a dog named Spirit and she is part Border Collie and part German Short Haired Pointer. I grew up in south St. Louis County and I am the third oldest of 8 children.
